What is AI Saved Me?
What this is
AI Saved Me is a place to learn what people have already figured out using AI, through real stories from real people (not companies).
The goal is simple: make it easier to understand how AI is actually being used in real life.
Independence
This site is independent and not affiliated with any AI company.
Everything here is based on real people sharing their own experiences, not company content or marketing.
Who this is for
This site is for two groups of people:
- People trying to understand AI
- People already using AI
Why this exists
This site started with conversations with my family over the holidays.
Several members of my family had been reading about AI, but mostly through headlines about risks, costs, and disruption.
What surprised me wasn't skepticism. It was that they didn't have a clear sense of what AI is actually useful for in their everyday lives.
At the same time, I was seeing people use AI in practical ways every day, solving problems and saving time.
The gap between those two perspectives was hard to ignore.
I wanted to create a place where people already using AI could share what they've figured out, and people still learning could see what's actually possible.
That idea became AI Saved Me.
How this works
Contributors submit stories via text or voice.
AI helps structure each story while preserving the contributor's voice.
Contributors review and approve their stories before publication.
A human reviews and publishes every story.
Many stories include the tools and prompts used so you can try something similar.
Why you can trust this
- Every story is based on a real person's experience
- Stories are edited for clarity, but keep the contributor's voice
- Contributors review and approve their stories before publication
This is not a platform for company marketing.
It documents how people are actually using these tools.
Independence (continued)
This site is currently self-funded.
There are no sponsors or paid placements.
If a story involves a company connected to my work, that is disclosed.
If sponsorship is ever introduced, it will not influence which stories are published or how they're told.
Who built this

Steve Mock
I built this site myself using AI tools, learning as I went.
I'm not a professional programmer.
The site itself is part of the experiment, an example of what these tools make possible.
This is the second project I've built this way.
The first was AI saved my grandfather's art legacy.
Why it's called "AI Saved Me"
The name comes from something very literal.
I was moved by stories of AI being used for cancer detection, where people said it saved their lives.
Since then, I've heard versions of that phrase used more broadly:
- "AI saved me hours."
- "AI saved my project."
- "AI saved my sanity this week."
The idea isn't always dramatic, but it's real.
A note on concerns about AI
Many concerns about AI are real.
- Job displacement.
- Misuse.
- Overhype.
- Loss of control.
This site doesn't dismiss those concerns or try to argue against them.
What this is not
- This is not a product showcase.
- This is not a corporate blog.
- This is not a place for press releases.
If you've had an experience where AI helped you, you can share your story.
If you're just exploring, start with the stories.
If something resonates, share it with someone in your life who might find it useful.
